MB Quart QP400 - Overview
MB Quart QP400 is top of the line semi-open headphone from the last MB Quart lineup. It is an update of QP95 that was the top of the line through the 1990's. Visually these two headphones are almost the same, however the sound signature is rumored to be slightly different.
QP400 have cardamatic suspension that together with soft plush earpads make them very comfortable. The cup have metal grills, a distinction from the lower end model. Over all the construction is very sturdy and durable, similar to Beyerdynamic DT990 headphones. Top of the line MB Quart headphones as are top of the line Beyerdynamic headphones made in Germany.
General Description of the Sound
According to owners the sound signature is very peculiar, yet shared by other MB Quart headphones, with a lot of details, fast tight but rolled off bass and peak in the high frequency range.
Pricing & Other Data of Interest
Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price was around $350 with the street price around $250. Used QP400 can be found as low as $50, a great deal because of famous MB Quart comfort and good sound quality.
