Warren Audio PM-1 headphone (Planar Magnetic 1) - Overview
The Warren Audio Planar Magnetic 1 headphone (PM-1) was announced on February 27th, 2011. It is soon to be in production.
Update
We are working hard over here at Warren Audio. We have officially secured funding to be able to go ahead with the first production run of the PM-1's in roughly a month's time. That being said, the public release date is going to be somewhere between the end of May and the beginning of July.
Any input, comments, recommendations or requests in regards to the PM-1's design should be directed to mailto:support@warren-audio.com prior to May 1st, 2011.
We are also working at creating a resource page at the Warren Audio homepage, and plan to have a resource filled page with specifics about every aspect of the design up and running in the next week or so.

Design process
Warren Audio have been very open with their design process, and communicated some early ideas that were later rejected. One rejected idea was to use perforated neodymium magnets, but the material is too brittle. Another rejected idea was to use wood housing. After careful consideration, an all aluminum housing was decided upon along with a rubber lining on the interior of the cups.
The Planar Magnetic 1's will be the first headphones to utilize Warren Audio's proprietary and original headband adjustment system. The following animated photo displays a very promising addition to Warren Audio's debut orthodynamic headphones:
